Class Descriptions

Zills, Drills, & Frills Belly Dance:

Learn MENA-influenced dance moves- a new combo every week, upper and lower body drills, contrast drill, zill concepts, and methods, other props as time allows. Pre-register online at least 2 days before class starts with the name you will be attending class under. This class runs Wednesdays 7:00pm-7:40pm EST (6:00-6:40pm Central). Only purchase ONE ticket for the entire program. Wear comfortable workout-type clothing. All body types and genders can participate. Join the Zoom meeting link (listed on the event page) with the same name as what you registered under. No experience is needed, but some dance experience is helpful. Required equipment: a device that can stream online classes.

Performance Choreography (Belly Dance & Fusion Dance):

Learn choreography & styling by Aiyana Opus. We will be working on a pre-choreographed fusion belly dance with the intention of performance. Join the Zoom meeting link (listed on the event page) with the same name as what you registered under. Pre-register online at least 2 days before class starts with the name you will be attending class under. This class runs Wednesdays 7:45pm-8:30pm EST (6:45pm-7:30pm Central). Performance options exist (Sabba Zimora’s Annual Hafla & online video collages, Suhara Jewels haflas in Michigan). No experience is needed, but some dance experience is helpful. Required equipment: a device that can stream online classes.

Pilates Mat Fitness:

Join Aiyana for evening sessions of core exercises to help increase strength in the major muscle groups.
~This is a non-competitive class. You don’t compete with anyone except for yourself!
~We will gradually add more repetitions each week while also adding more exercises.
~Use modifications as needed. Listen to your body and its limits.✔️GREAT WHEN PAIRED WITH GRAVITY YOGA! 🧘‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏽

Gravity Yoga:

Join Aiyana for end-of-the-day long hold poses to help increase mobility and flexibility. We will rotate weekly between the focus areas of hips, hamstrings, and back.
~This is a non-competitive class. You don’t compete with anyone except for yourself. The idea is to meet or beat your previous hold time for each pose.

Guided Meditation:

Join Aiyana for varied meditations targeting times of transition of fall and spring, new moon, full moon, and others yet to be formed! Times and days may vary. See event schedule. Please allow yourself 40 minutes of “alone” time or “me” time without interruptions. You will be asked to turn off your phone and prepare your space for silence, comfort, and tranquility. Pre-register online at least 2 days before class starts with the name you will be attending class under.
